First Thursday of every month 12:30-5:00.
Utah Health & Human Rights (UHHR) is in need of a nurse with psychiatric experience and cross-cultural interests. UHHR provides specialized mental health, medical, legal and case management services to refugees, asylum seekers, asylees, and immigrants who have endured severe human rights abuses, including torture and war-related trauma. UHHR offers a psychiatric clinic twice a month to clients and needs a certified nurse to perform check in procedures as well as assist with case coordination. Schedule permitting, two weeks following the psychiatry clinic, the nurse would return to UHHR to perform check-in calls with clients to help identify side effects, compliance issues, and address any other client concerns related to their psychiatric medication. The nurse would then relay this information to UHHR's psychiatrist and would be responsible for conveying the information (including any changes in medication dosage, etc) back to the client. Volunteer must have a minimum of a certified nursing license (APRN, NP, PhD also welcome). This position is a volunteer position and would be for approximately 5 hours every month, usually taking place on Thursdays from 12:00 pm -5:00 pm
