At Optum Hospice and Palliative Care, we want to recognize the sacrifices that many of our patients have made in serving their country. In doing so, we have created a VETERANS RECOGNITION PROGRAM. Interested volunteers would present a Certificate of Appreciation to Veterans who are receiving care from Optum Hospice and spend time sharing their experiences in the armed forces.

Optum Hospice and Palliative Care Veteran Volunteers visit terminally ill veterans; listen to life stories or record or videotape a veteran's reminiscences; telephone veterans to ask how they are doing; attend or help plan activities celebrating Memorial Day and Veteran's Day; educate veteran's groups about hospice services by speaking at their meetings.

Volunteers do not need to be a US Veterans; you only need the desire to remember; honor and support our American living heroes.
