Volunteers are an essential part of our hospice team. They are our extra set of helping hands and eyes and hearts. Our volunteers add quality to a patient's time at the end of life's journey. No special skills needed. Typical companionship activities include visiting, reading, listening to music and providing support to the patient's family. Training is provided on a Saturday from 8:30 to 2:00 in our Flower Mound office. Next training date will be on a Saturday from 8:30 to 2:00. The date is not set yet, but most likely in late January/early February 2016.
Volunteers visit patients in their homes or elder-care facilities in the DFW metroplex, several of which are in the Keller area. Volunteers are matched to patients near them. (After the training and one follow-up visit to our office, it won't be necessary to come to Flower Mound on a regular basis.)
