Being a Job Coach is a great opportunity to assist someone prepare for and find a job! The Job Coach assists patrons with a variety of questions dealing with job searching, resume writing, interview etiquette and other concerns that may be encountered while conducting a job search.
The qualified candidate will help the job seeker create a resume from scratch, update an existing resume, identify the appropriate resume format to use when applying for positions (chronological, functional, hybrid), set up an email account, develop a job search strategy, apply for positions on line, and prepare for an interview. The Job Coach will introduce the job seeker to online job and career resources that are available through the Library’s web site.
We ask the Job Coach to be available for 2 hours whenever the program is offered. The day of the week and frequency (weekly, biweekly, monthly etc.) will be determined by the Coach and the branch. We’ll work with you to establish the schedule. Job seekers may drop-in or they can schedule an appointment ahead of time.
The Job Coach will receive an orientation to the Library and training in the use of the Library's jobs and careers databases. The ideal candidate has experience in Human Resources, staffing, recruiting or staff management.
