Volunteer Driver Escorts are very important to us at Surrey- Chore Connection. The volunteer drivers help senior neighbors who can no longer drive. As a driver escort, you would use your own car to take seniors to and from medical appointments or the grocery store. For the most part, the health care appointments are centered in your community. As an escort, you can accept an assignment based on familiarity with the area and convenient times. Chore Connection's office is in Havertown but the volunteer opportunity is in your community.

For nearly 45 years, Surrey has connected people and resources, creating a vibrant community of older adults. We offer programs and services that help older adults remain safe and engaged in our community including:

  • Activities, exercise, clubs, lunch, and lectures at any Surrey center - Bryn Mawr, Broomall, Devon, or Media
  • Nutritious meals available in-person or Grab and Go Monday-Friday at Devon, Broomall, and Media
  • Transportation services, fee-based and free, provided by volunteers, Surrey Drivers and through partnerships with Chester County Community Transit (Chester County) and DELGO Community Transit (Delaware County)
  • Home care services including RN Care Management for help with medication management and care; personal care for help bathing and dressing; and Personal Finance Management for help with bills, insurance claims, and long-term care policies.
  • Opportunities to downsize and consign with the Surrey Consignment Shop.
  • Free instruction, support, and hands-on training for family caregivers and aspiring caregivers at The Surrey Academy.
