Please consider becoming a member of our Hospice Volunteer Team. Therapy dogs have the ability to enrich the quality of life for hospice patients and their families. Therapy dogs help combat loneliness and they give patients the chance to have something to look forward to. Most of our volunteers visit patients in care facilities although some are in private homes. We offer extensive training and ongoing support and education to our volunteers though (optional) monthly meetings and a news letter. References and background check are required. The cost is covered by Heartland.
