Summit Community Hospice is looking for volunteers willing to share their time and pet with our hospice patients. We are passionate about the human-animal bond and love to see how it benefits our terminally ill patients and their loved ones. We are a small, personable hospice providing compassionate end of life care to hospice patients all over the Denver Metro Area. You and your wonderful companion will visit our patients in their homes, assisted living and nursing homes. Nothing else can brighten up our patients day like a visit from you and your pet!! All pets must be certified either as a therapy animal or animal assisted activity partner. Hospice orientation is provided.

Our mission is to provide quality care for patients faced with a life limiting illness. The goal is to improve the quality of a person’s life through pain and symptom control, as well as with emotional and spiritual support.
We believe the patient and family are integral decision making members of the hospice team in planning care. Hospice offers an alternative to repeat hospitalizations. Hospice affirms life. It neither hastens nor postpones death but assists the patient and family in living with a life limiting illness. Hospice regards dying as a normal process at life’s end which we can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and loved ones.

Summit Community Hospice is a hospice care company that serves patients in communities throughout Denver and the surrounding metro area. Our hospice services help terminally ill patients face end-of-life issues with dignity and grace. Respecting the wishes of our patients and their families, we provide palliative care, emotional support and spiritual sustenance to improve quality of life at the end of life.
