  • 15 people are interested

Marion-Polk Food Share is the regional food bank serving Marion and Polk counties through a network of nearly 100 hunger-relief partners. Volunteer opportunities are endless, with a current need for gardeners willing to help on Saturdays from 9am-1pm at one of many community garden sites; as well as gardeners to assist with the Edible Landscape Garden on-site at MPFS. Volunteer needs also include drivers who can drive the delivery truck to pick-up and load donations from local grocery stores, a CDL is not required; and warehouse volunteers on a daily basis from 11am-3pm to sort fresh perishable food donated by local grocery stores. For more information please contact Beth Faulhaber at beth_faulhaber@ci.woodburn.or.us or at 503-982-5255.

Mission Statement

A nationwide volunteer program, RSVP invites adults 55 and over to use their life experience and skills to benefit and support organizations and non-profits in their community through volunteer service.

Description

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from one to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, senior centers, police departments, libraries and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
