ORGANIZATION: Crossroads for Women

Crossroads for Women will be hosting its Second Annual Seminar Series "The Addiction-Trauma Connection: Spirals of Recovery and Healing" a one-day education seminar with Dr. Stephanie S. Covington on Tuesday, October 22, 2013.

This one-day education program focuses on the specific needs of women who are recovering from substance abuse, mental health issues and all forms of violence and other traumatic experiences. The primary emphasis of this program is on finding ways to facilitate the healing process in women's addiction treatment.

We need your help planning and organizing this special event. We invite you to join our Seminar Task Force! Committee opportunities include: Catering, Meet and Greet, Registration, Sponsorship, Promotion & Marketing and much more.

Committment: June-November 2013, approx 12 hours a month

Our mission is to provide comprehensive, integrated services to support women working to break the cycle of homelessness and incarceration and achieve healthy, stable, and self sufficient lives in the community for themselves and their children.

Description

Crossroads for Women assists women (and their children) who are struggling with homelessness, substance addiction, and mental illness. We provide case management, vocational assistance, family and parenting services, therapeutic, social, and creative groups, individual counseling, and housing assistance. Crossroads for Women is located in downtown Albuquerque.
