Public Elementary School
Do you enjoy working with children in a one-on-one setting? Do you want to experience the love from a child with special needs? This Public Elementary School in Grafton, ND. offers an incredible opportunity for you to share your love and caring with children. This classroom is filled with hope, challenges and the opportunity of a lifetime to make a profound difference in a child's life.
Volunteers work in the Special Education room with the Developmentally Disabled children. They work one-on-one with the children on task specified activities by the Special Education Instructor. Some time each day is spent with children K - 3rd grade in the regular classrooms working on literacy issues.
Terms: Site is handicapped accessible, Volunteer must be at least 60 years of age, Volunteer must meet income eligibility requirement

Mission Statement
The purpose of the Foster Grandparent Program is to provide meaningful opportunities for income eligible elderly (over 55) people to render supportive, individual services to children with special needs in health, educaiton, welfare and related settings.
Description
The Red River Valley Foster Grandparent Program has been in operation since 1967. It is run out of Grand Forks, ND and covers the eastern half of North Dakota.
