Do you want to make a difference? In less than 3 hours a week, you can help us deliver food to home-bound seniors in your community.

Lanakila Meals on Wheels is the largest, island-wide provider of home delivered meals. We deliver meals Tuesday thru Saturday mornings; delivering to different parts of Oahu on different days of the week.

Our mission is to provide healthy and nutritious food to homebound seniors to help them remain in their homes and age with dignity.

Lanakila Meals on Wheels is a program of Lanakila Pacific, a 501(c)(3) organization offering assistance programs and operating social enterprises to build independence and improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive, physical, social or age-related challenges. Since 1939, our vision has been to embody self-sufficiency and inspire inclusive communities where people of all ages and abilities are empowered to live independently, find meaningful employment and thrive in spirit.

Description

As the only island-wide senior meal delivery service, Lanakila Meals on Wheels served 2,700 seniors and provided over 576,000 meals in FY21 - all thanks to our wonderful volunteers. Our meals are nutritious, providing homebound, low-income, or isolated kupuna with the boost they need to continue living with dignity at home. And it's more than just a meal - valuable interactions with staff and volunteers provide the aloha and wellness checks often missing from the lives of solitary seniors.

  • Up to 3 hours each day you select to volunteer.
  • Be a safe driver and have access to an insured vehicle. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and use a smart phone app to record deliveries.
