(VMCs513oc) Commitment and willingness to help others are key qualifications to be an Outreach Caller for Volunteer Management Centers (VMC's) Telephone Reassurance Program. Help alleviate loneliness and isolation for homebound seniors by making regularly scheduled calls. Other responsibilities include: completing log sheets with information from calls, maintaining client confidentiality, attending Outreach Volunteer meetings, notifying VMC office of any crisis or potential crisis involving client, finding a replacement caller if unable to make scheduled call. Orientation/training sessions provided and required. Calls made from our Stirling, NJ call center. 1-2 hours per week. 2 references required. Become a VMC Outreach Caller and, with a simple phone call, you can improve the quality of life for a homebound senior.

VMC provides volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of all ages through our affiliation with over 500 not-for-profits, schools and government entities. VMC goes beyond matching to educating volunteers. Professional development is offered to volunteer managers, agency boards, and individuals wishing to serve on a not-for-profit board of directors. Business partnerships enable us to assist them in planning and executing volunteer projects. In addition, outreach and senior services are offered through friendly visiting and telephone reassurance programs.
