The Community Volunteer Lead helps grow Girl Scouts in the local community. The volunteer leads and coordinates local recruitment efforts to recruit girls and adults to join Girl Scouts of Central California South.

• Develop relationships with all volunteers and provide ongoing support.
• Serve as an advocate for Girl Scouts and the point of contact between the communities they serve and council staff.
• Promote council wide activities on an ongoing basis.
• Speak about the Girl Scout organization to community groups or college community service centers.
• Help connect local media with the Council Communications Department to get publicity for local events.
• Be a translator and assist with outreach to non-English speaking communities.

• Girl Focus: Empower girls to lead activities, learn by doing, and cooperate with others on current issues that involve their interests and needs, while having fun.

• Fostering Diversity: Understand, respect, and embrace differences.
• Oral Communication: Expresses ideas and facts clearly and accurately.
• Personal Integrity: Demonstrate dependability, honesty, and credibility.

Requirements

• Adults 18
• Complete a volunteer application, background check and references
• Willing to register as a Girl Scout member ($15/year).
• Willing to take training for volunteer position.
