Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg brings people together to build homes and hope in the communities of Hampton, James City County, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg and York County.
Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg partners with area families, local government, businesses, faith groups, schools, associations and individual volunteers and donors to build safe, decent affordable homes and also to repair homes for lower-income families.
In response to the great need for safe, decent, affordable housing on the Virginia Peninsula, an ecumenical group of individuals formed this local affiliate in 1985.
We started our first home in 1986 and, since then, our affiliate has completed over 130 houses in your own backyard!
Everyday is different at the ReStore, but one things stays the same - we need volunteers like you! Note: Volunteer participation will not lead to employment. Hope to see you soon!
We need volunteers on our sales floor! If you're interested please contact us!

Description
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently-used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. The goal of the ReStore is to generate enough profits to build more Habitat homes for qualified, hardworking low- to moderate-income families, as well as to promote recycling. 100% of the profits from the ReStores are used to build and sell affordable housing!
