Job Coach
Make someone's day! Be a Job Coach!

The Sylvan Oaks Public Library seeks a Job Coach to help patrons with a variety of questions dealing with job searching, resume writing, interview etiquette and any other concerns that they may have encountered while trying to find employment.

Ideally we'd like to offer the Job Coach Program on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We are flexible on the day of the week that may work for your schedule.

You are comfortable working with a diverse group of people, many of whom are re-entering the workforce or who may need to set up an email or create a resume from scratch. The Job Coach will assist the job seeker to select the best resume format to use when applying for a job, develop a job search strategy, apply for positions online, and prepare for an interview. The Job Coach will inform and demonstrate the Jobs and Career databases available through the Library web site.

The Volunteer Job Coach will receive an orientation and training that includes an introduction to the Library resources specific to a job search.

Job seekers are welcomed on a drop-in basis or they may schedule an appointment ahead of time.

The ideal candidate has Human Resources, staffing or professional recruiting experience.
