An application needs to be completed and a personal intereview scheduled prior to the training. Volunteers will complete 30 hours of training prior to being sworn in as a child advocate. They must make a one-year committment. The vlolunteer child advocate will be a voice for the child(ren) on their case and advocate for the best interests of the child(ren).

To provide trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in the court system.

Description

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Collin County is appointed by District Court Judges to serve as a voice for children involved in the court system because of child abuse and neglect. Volunteer Advocates speak up on behalf of children throughout the court process, with the goal of ensuring that children's best interests are served and that each child is returned to or placed in a safe, loving home where he or she can thrive.
