You are a compassionate, caring person ,with not a lot of extra free time ; I am a volunteer coordinator who has grieving families who could use a phone call from someone who cares. Berevement volunteers call families to check up on them after the loss of a loved one from their own homes. After the initial training you wont need to come into my office you can do all your volunteering from the comfort of your home. Making a phone call to a grieving family member after the death of their loved one can give you and the family member comfort . Description
Hospice care is specialized care for the terminally ill. A hospice is an organization that provides this special care. Hospice caregivers visit and care for people at the end stage of life in their private home or in a nursing home, assisted living, etc. Each hospice is unique but all hospices share the same basic mission and philosophy.Heavenly Hospice’s philosophy is to provide support and care for persons in the last stages of a terminal illness so that they live life as fully and comfortably as possible. At Heavenly Hospice we believe the dying process is a natural part of life. Our team and programs provide a continuum of care services that support the patient and family in all aspects. Our philosophy is that patients have choices in how they approach daily living. We offer and respect those choices and do everything possible to meet the needs of patients and their families. We strive to educate families and take really good care of them. Our staff of volunteers can even work on weekends and evenings. We offer to mow a lawn, give a haircut, clean out a refrigerator, or just talk. We offer programs and services outside of just the traditional ones, e.g., pet therapy, music therapy, and birthday celebrations. Volunteers offer another level of support to families and work as a team alongside our nurses, home health aides, chaplains, social workers.
