A Court Appointed Special Advocate (or CASA) is a trained, dedicated and caring community volunteer, who has the opportunity to broadly influence the life of a foster child by advocating across many important life issues, including permanent placement, health care, education, and enrichment activities. Many more children can thrive with the intensive intervention of a CASA volunteer, and this is how you can help.
The first step toward becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is attending an information session. Join us for an hour to learn how you can make a much needed difference in the life of a foster child. No specific education background is necessary, as we offer a comprehensive training course for all potential advocates before they are paired with children.
We look forward to sharing more information about the work of CASAs at the information session!

Mission Statement
CASA of Los Angeles mobilizes community volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
Description
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (or CASA) volunteer makes a difference for children in foster care. CASA volunteers are paired to work one-on-one with a child and ensure they have the services and support needed in the areas important to all children: stable placement, education, and healthcare. There are 30,000 kids in the child welfare system in LA and many need the support of a CASA volunteer. The first step toward becoming a CASA volunteer is attending an information session, where we describe the role and impact our volunteers have.
