Your Car Secretly Wants to Be a Little Bookmobile

Fulfill your car’s dreams while delivering joy to booklovers. Jefferson County Public Library offers free monthly deliver to people with a disability lasting 3 months or longer.

Volunteers pick up materials at their nearest JCPL library and drive a route with 3-5 stops, which may include nursing homes and personal residences, to drop off and pick up materials. When complete, drop off the returns at your local JCPL library.

Routes are currently open in Lakewood. This is one of the most rewarding volunteer positions in the county! Our patrons love seeing you bring the library to them.

Commitment: Once a month for 1-2 hours on a set schedule (usually during the non-rush hour times). You'll deliver to the same patrons each time and get to know their happy faces when you arrive! Your mileage can be counted toward charitable expenses on your tax return.
