ORGANIZATION: Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library

  • 52 people are interested

The Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library's mission is to raise funds for the Rochester Public Library. Our fundraising efforts include running The Library Store, holding two annual book sales, selling books online through Alibris, Amazon, and AbeBooks. We receive about 100,000 donated books a year and we REALLY need help processing them. We need:

  • Book sorters, who work in the stacks and organize donated books and other items (CDs, DVDs, etc.)
  • Book pricers, who research values, set prices, and list selected books online to sell
  • Book pre-pricers/weeders, who research books and categorize them by value.
  • Volunteers to straighten up the bookstore during a weekly shift
  • Occasional special event volunteers (for book sales).
  • Office Support

We ask that all volunteers commit to a 6-month placement. For more information, visit our website at ffrpl.org.
