M AKE A LIFELONG DIFFERENCE TO A CHILD
Every day children are removed from their families because of alleged abuse, abandonment or neglect. They enter the dependency court system with no voice of their own. A Guardian Ad Litem is a court appointed volunteer who advocates for the best interests of the child. The Guardian Volunteer becomes familiar with the child and the child's case and makes recommendations to the court to help ensure a safe, caring, and stable environment. You can become their voice. - Commitment: One year minimum commitment. Must be 21 years of age. Complete 30 hours of free certification training (classroom and online). Able to spend 6-12 hours a month on a case. Training starts every two months. Information meetings are offered at local libraries.
