The American Cancer Society's Young Professional Leadership Council is a group of dedicated young professionals working together to advance the mission of the American Cancer Society. Join us to help create a world with less cancer--and more birthdays!

Founded in 2013, our mission is twofold: to support ACS through fundraising intiatives and positive public relations and to provide Council members with opportunities to network, develop leadership skills, and learn about the non-profit sector.

This is the second year for the YPLC in DC and we're looking to expand! Council members are asked to attend monthly meetings, serve on at least one mission subcommittee (which may meet more frequently), and help raise at least $500 each year to support the Society. This $500 can be raised through a variety of ways, including but not limited to selling event tickets, donating items for auction, recruiting donations, or personal gift. Council members will help to fight cancer and improve the lives of cancer patients while also learning the innerworkings on non-profit governance; developing effective fundraising strategies; improving event-planning and execution skills; and networking with other community-minded DC professionals.

The Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month. We hope to see you there!
