Help children learn about nature while maintaining the 4-H Club farm located at a lovely Montclair Historical Society site.

Volunteer tasks include:

Maintaining garden beds, plants, weeding, composting
Pruning trees
Raking and turning coil and compost
Transporting horse manure from the neighboring stable
Maintaining the chicken coop
Organizing and labeling gardening materials
Working with younger children involved in the service night

Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and clothes they don't mind getting dirty! This is an outdoor project. When it doubt about weather and cancellations, please visit the Montclair Community Farms Facebook page for updates.
NOTE: To participate in this project you must be a Jersey Cares volunteer.

Jersey Cares works to meet community needs by making volunteering easy and meaningful. We provide flexible, structured, team-based opportunities for volunteers to impact a variety of nonprofit organizations and bring positive change to local communities. Jersey Cares works directly with local organizations to identify their needs, and trains volunteer leaders to manage projects that address those needs. Most projects are ongoing, and volunteers (other than the Project Coordinators) commit to only one day at a time. All of this enables you to volunteer whenever and however fits your interests and schedule, and yet always make a real difference. Simply choose "Volunteer" from the left menu to get started on your volunteering adventure!
