Mentor (MOMS Program)

Description

MOMS is a one-to-one mentoring program of the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County that matches teen mothers or expectant teens, 12-24 years old, with an experienced mother who has been screened or trained. Volunteers are needed to work with pregnant or parenting teenagers on a one-to-one basis. A MOMS volunteer is a woman who is a mother, and has the time (3-4 hours a week for at least one year) and desire to make a commitment to a young mother and her child. Volunteers must enjoy interacting with teenagers and are comfortable addressing issues relevant to parenting.
