We are looking for groups, churches and businesses to host food drives for our annual summer "Feed the Children" program in Lomita. In July & in June 350 school age children who will be displaced from their schools feeding programs because of summer closures will come for groceries. In addition to bags of groceries children learn about making healthy food choices and each child will learn to pot and plant a seedling to take home so they can grow their own fresh food.

Help us feed hungry children in the So Bay and teach children to live longer healthier lives.

Contact Dede at (310) 534-4040 ext. 301 or email office@cchild.org for more information on hosting a successful food drive. Our most needed items: Tuna, Healthy Cereals (no added sugars), Canned Soups, Granola Bars.

Description

Community's Child is a nondenominational Christian program committed to providing homeless women with infants healthy alternatives to abuse, poverty, addictions, and hopelessness. The program offers homeless women and their infants a safe, compassionate, yet structured living environments. At Community's Child, women acquire the education, skills training, employment opportunities and support services, necessary to break the patterns associated with homelessness.
