(CESDr413fa) The Center for Emotional and Spiritual Development (CESD) is seeking a finance associate to plan, organize, direct, and control the functions of finance and accounting. The volunteer will oversee books & records on all company transactions & assets and assist with preparing financial statements & analyses. This position is ideal for a retired individual with a career background in finance, or a person in-between employment positions but experienced in finance. Requirements include: minimum of 5 years experience in a finance department, preferably in non-profits; understanding of general finance needs of a start-up; knowledge of bookkeeping for end-of-year 990 reports; set-up of technology system to track expenses and revenues. Adults through seniors are welcome. Wheelchair accessible.

VMC provides volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of all ages through our affiliation with over 500 not-for-profits, schools and government entities. VMC goes beyond matching to educating volunteers. Professional development is offered to volunteer managers, agency boards, and individuals wishing to serve on a not-for-profit board of directors. Business partnerships enable us to assist them in planning and executing volunteer projects. In addition, outreach and senior services are offered through friendly visiting and telephone reassurance programs.
