Project: VISION ( www.projectvisionchicago.org) is a small grassroots nonprofit organization serving youth ages 12-18, who are primarily from lower-income, first generation immigrant families, in Chicago's Chinatown, Bridgeport, and surrounding communities. We serve 200 students each school year through tutoring, mentoring, college and career readiness, service learning, and leadership training programs.
We are looking to grow our Board of Directors with enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about youth development so that we can grow our organization and serve even more community youth.
Useful experience/skills/traits include: professional experience (10+ years), some board experience, project management, fundraising, knowledge of accounting/finance, marketing, networking, and team-oriented.
Time commitment varies, but typical board members spend an estimated 15-20 hours per month (including board meetings, committee meetings, events, etc.).
