ORGANIZATION: National Kidney Foundation Serving the National Capital Area

We are looking for a vibrant group of volunteers connected to the cause and confident in public speaking -- medical professionals, organ recipients, dialysis patients, and living donors -- who can present the "Your Kidneys & You" program.

"Your Kidneys & You" is a short presentation to educate the general public about kidneys, kidney disease and risk factors. The program consists of 11 scripted PowerPoint slides suitable for small and large groups to view. There is a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.

Responsibilities:

Attend at least one speaker training to learn about NKF’s mission and how to incorporate your personal story with the "Your Kidneys & You" PowerPoint presentation. You will also receive the latest fact sheets, talking points, brochures and program materials. Work closely with Programs staff to schedule events. Speaking engagements may include businesses, government agencies, schools, churches, and community centers.

Time Commitment:

2 hrs per event (Does not include travel)

Available positions:

1-2 volunteers per event
