The Karma Lottery - Get Rewarded for Volunteering

We have a pretty exciting fundraiser going on. It's called the Karma Lottery. You can see it at www.TheOrphanFoundation.org/MAKarma.htm or at the mobile-friendly site: www.KarmaLottery.org. (In fact, you'll LOVE the first video of the Dennehy family.)

We have a lot of people donating to us via this fundraiser. Basically, we're 'gifting' back a Massachusetts lottery ticket that's worth about one-half of their donated amount. The 'gift' is anywhere from a $2 Mass Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket to a "Season Ticket," depending on the donation amount. There's a lot of good things around the fundraiser, including the fact that at the "Season Ticket" levels, we register the ticket on behalf of the donor with the Massachusetts Lottery, and then the Lottery automatically notifies them when they win. And of course, we use the rest of the donations to help an orphan get into a loving family and home. And hopefully, it starts the karma flowing for everyone involved.

So we decided to turn this into a volunteer opportunity. We sent all of our board members and donors a referral kit that has 10 referral packages to send out to their friends and family. Depending on the contribution levels - which range from $5 to $250 - both the donor and the person referring them are 'gifted' a lottery ticket. At the $200 and $250 donation levels, we gift the donor a $100 season ticket (104 draws throughout the year - at a twice a week rate), and the referring person a $25 season ticket (26 draws - at a twice a week rate for 3 months). And the Massachusetts Lottery is one of the few lotteries that is open to international audiences. In fact, we even had a local Rotary club donate and the gifted ticket went back to their club. Now that would create a real endowment!

If you'd like to help us, we'll send you one of these referral kits that contain the 10 referral packages. It’ll take about 30-minutes - tops, and everything is already written out. They're expensive to mail, so please only do it if you're real serious.

It's kind of a neat way to spread a little 'karma' to everyone involved. We'll even include a $500/week lottery scratch card for you, in exchange for your doing this for us. If you decide to volunteer for this one, you need to be over 18, and we need your current mailing address and telephone number.
