Hate the idea of fracking in California? We need you! The Loma Prieta Chapter is currently recruiting volunteers to join our anti-fracking team. Campaign experience desired but but neccessary. Roles we are looking to fill include: campaign planners, public speakers, researchers, writers, graphic designers.
Fracking damages the land, pollutes water and air, and causes illness in surrounding communities, while also contributing to greenhouse gas emissions. In December 2012, despite Sierra Club objections, the Bureau of Land Management made a lease sale of approximately 17,000 acres in Fresno, Monterey, and San Benito counties. We are launching and campaign to challenge this lease sale, support stronger protections on these lands, and participate in the state-wide conversation against fracking.

Description
The Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter organizes outdoor recreation for people of all ages, advocates for policies that protect our natural environment, supports environmental candidates for public office, and provides opportunities for people who want to develop leadership skills to give back to the community and help the environment.
