PRS Mount Vernon Recovery Academy is seeking a volunteer to facilitate psycho-educational groups for the Recovery Academy on topics related to symptom management, coping skills, job readiness, independent living skills, etc.

PRS Recovery Academy provides a curriculum-based day program that promotes movement out of PRS’ facility-based programming and into meaningful community alternatives such as work, volunteering and school. Services assisting with transition to community -based activities and dual diagnoses are also offered.

Journaling

Coping Skills

Literacy

Hours: Days and times TBD based on volunteer schedule. Times will be during the day.

Duties:

- Provide direct skill teaching in a variety of settings. All classes will be tought through cirriculums

- Instruct a class of 10

HopeLink exists so that individuals living with mental illness, substance use disorders, mild intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and anyone who faces life crises can achieve safety, personal wellness, recovery and community integration.

We work alongside our clients at all phases of recovery, teaching them how to live independently. With Centers in Fairfax, Mt. Vernon, VA, and residential sites throughout Northern Virginia, HopeLink offers a comprehensive array of programs including the Recovery Academy, Community Housing, Employment Services and Community Support Services, and CrisisLink, a 24/7 suicide prevention and crisis intervention hotline and textline.
