Benefits Counselors are responsible for providing information, counseling, assistance, and advocacy to senior citizens regarding their benefits, entitlements, and legal rights. Benefits Counselors can consult on topics such as Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare Savings program (QMB & SLMB), SSI, fraud, consumer problems, and other benefits. Training is provided.

The agency is dedicated to building a community that supports older residents and allows them to age in place with dignity, security, and enhanced quality of life. The range of services provided includes congregate meals, home-delivered meals, benefits counseling, care coordination, legal assistance, long-term care Ombudsman nutrition and counseling and training, caregiver support, and transportation services.
Description
Our organization is providing free, one-on-one assistance to people with Medicare and their families via telephone and face-to-face sessions, public education presentations and other programs. Through the CMS MedicareRx Volunteer Initiative, volunteers at our organization will be given the opportunity to work directly with people with Medicare to help them understand their prescription drug plan options and join a plan that will best suit their prescription drug needs if they choose.
