MentorNOLA with Each One Save One is a school based mentoring organization that was founded in New Orleans in 1994 by Sally-Ann Roberts and Cathy Harris. Our mentors work at one of our dozen partner schools with one child one hour a week. We have monthly training classes and work to support you throughout the time you are mentoring. This is a great opportunity for you and a student!
Please contact me if ou have any questions and below is a quote from one of our students.

"I love my mentor. She cares and so do I. She is friendly and loves to play games and I teach her how to play some games. It is fun having a mentor. I understand her and she understands me". -Natache, John Dibert Elementary

Description
Each One Save One is a mentoring organization that actively recruits volunteers to work one-on-one with children in grades K-12 in the public school system. Each One Save One was founded in 1994 by co-founders Cathy Harris and Sally Ann Roberts. Our mentors are caring a dults that commit to service one hour a week each week during the school year. Our mentors attend a one day training class which consists of sessions on problem solving and conflict resolution, cultural awareness and diversity, personality types, communication, and receive basic training in recognizing abuse and neglect in children. Prior to Hurricane Katrina we had 350 mentors in 110 schools throughout the New Orleans area. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the physical office of Each One Save One but not the spirit of the caring adults across the community willing to make a difference in a young person’s life. We currently have over 50 mentors and we are actively recruiting more each day.
