Sharing Hands A Respite Experience

Do you like helping kids and their families? Then come volunteer with us! We provide services for families that have children with special needs. Our volunteer opportunities range from working on our website, helping with our electronic check-in system, to helping with family social events, and working with the parents/children in our programs (special needs kids and their siblings). We have volunteer opportunities in both Midland and Odessa every month.

We accept volunteers 13 and up. We offer Texas Scholar, Legacy, Teen Court, and Avid hours. Volunteers get to choose what they want to do, where they volunteer, volunteers can bring their children with them, and we feed all the volunteers if they are there during dinner or lunch.

Families/friends/co-workers can volunteer together, and we work closely with Midland College, Odessa College, and UTPB nursing, education, and special education departments.

We offer a free, NO-obligation tour at any of our events if you would like to come see if we are the right fit for you!

S.H.A.R.E. partners with all members of families where there are children with special needs, supporting their efforts to establish and maintain strong and successful families.

Description

We provide resources for families in West Texas, parent support groups, sibling support, grief support, and respite care. We also provide holiday celebrations, socials and dinner groups, as well as workshops for the families. We have activities that operate in both Midland and Odessa but welcome families (and volunteers) from all over West Texas.
