PR/Marketing Professionals or Students: we need YOU to help make this year’s Dinner in the Stacks fundraiser for the Phoenix Public Library system the best ever! We are currently seeking enthusiastic, organized, library-loving individuals to serve on our Public Relations sub-committee. We'll communicate primarily virtually - via email & Dropbox. This project spans several months, culminating with the Dinner in the Stacks event itself on Saturday, September 27. Opportunities for social media management, press release writing, and website development and/or management.

Mission Statement

To promote, enhance and expand the presence and services of the library for the benefit of the community.

Description

The Friends have been instrumental in raising millions for the library programs citywide; adding additional books and furnishings for the library's; providing input to public officials to ensure a strong library system; developing nationally recognized Teen Centers; purchasing rare books and Spanish language materials; holding book sales to raise funds and provide low cost books to the public and acting as a conduit between the community and the library system. The Friends of the Phoenix Library was organized in 1977 and has chapters at each Phoenix library branch. We invite volunteers to help in efforts to develop financial resources and programs, create public awareness and serve as advocates for the library system.
