Family ACCESS of Newton (formerly the Newton Community Service Center) serves children from 3 months to pre-K and their families. We are seeking volunteers to enhance the on-site Library experience for these young children (and to have a meaningful time yourself while so doing)! Volunteers have the opportunity to sign-up for weekday morning (9am-11am) and/or afternoon (3:00p-5p) shifts based on their availability. (Ideally at least 1 weekly shift.) Volunteers will assist in the classroom and accompany the teaching staff to the library. We are especially interested in volunteers who are willing to use funny voices, dance, sing, etc. to help "bring books to life" for the children.
Please note all volunteers must pass a CORI (Criminal Offense Record Investigation) and finger print check. Please note there is a fee for processing the fingerprints at the expense of the volunteer.
