Tutors will help students in 4th grade to 12th grade in the Santa Barbara School of Squash (SBSOS), a non-profit after-school program, with various academic subjects - primarily language arts and math. Opportunites vary from group tutoring to one-on-one tutoring. Each team is made up of 11 students so we are very small.
Here are the sessions where we need tutors:
Team 1: High School Students - Thursday @ 4:15 pm (Santa Barbara Athletic Club)
Team 2: Middle School Students - Tuesday @ 4:15 pm (Santa Barbara Athletic Club)
Team 3: Elementary School Students - Monday @ 4:30 pm (Downtown YMCA)
T1/T2/T3: Wednesday @ 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm (Davis Center - Downtown)
Random days for outings and community service
We are seeking positive outgoing individuals who love working with kids! SBSOS is a volunteer based organization who works with disadvantaged youth and focus on academic enrichment, squash instruction and community outreach. Please visit www.sbsos.org for more specific information.

Mission Statement
To help underserved students succeed in life through squash, education, and mentoring.
Description
SBSOS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit year-round sports and education program serving committed Santa Barbara youth (5 th-12 th grade) who qualify for the National School Lunch program. SBSOS pillars include squash/exercise, academic tutoring, community service, enrichment opportunities, and mentoring. We operate after school, on weekends, and during holidays. By using squash as a motivator, we guide students to realize their academic, athletic and personal potential. Our goal is for each student to graduate from high school prepared for their next step: college or to launch a career. We stay in contact with graduates as they work toward their post-high school goals and offer guidance and support through age 25. We are closely involved with each student on many levels and describe the program as "an inch wide but a mile deep".
