We need your help! The Adaptive Sports and Recreation Association offers people with physical disabilities year round opportunities to participate in sports and recreation programs. Our 29th annual Junior Adaptive Sports Camp is set for August 2015. We are in need of energetic, enthusiastic, committed volunteers, who will be active team members on our Adaptive Sports Camp committee. Committee duties include, but are not limited to: event coordination, planning, and logistics, fundraising, registration (online set up), athlete recruitment, marketing, public relations, volunteer recruitment.

Core Programs and Activities

Year-Round Adaptive Sports (YRS)

Year Round league sports programs are offered to people of all ages and include wheelchair basketball, tennis, and sitting volleyball.

Originally just one team, the program has quickly grown to include multiple competitive and recreational levels, including:

  • Recreational 12 and under (multi sport clinics)
  • Wheelchair basketball (youth and Adult)
  • Wheelchair Tennis (adult)

Junior Adaptive Sports Camp

Children, ages 4-18, attend a five-day adaptive sports camp. Campers have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of a number of adaptive sports and further develop their skills. Sports include wheelchair basketball, tennis, archery, swimming, rugby, soccer, handcycling, sailing, water tubing, outrigger canoeing, kayaking and more. The camp’s goal is to help establish the building blocks of an active life through the introduction and skill development of adaptive sports.
