This position provides an opportunity to volunteer in an organization that promotes health in our community. At Pueblo StepUp, our mission is to positively impact the health, well-being, and access to healthcare and wellness services for Pueblo’s underserved. Our vision is that all residents of Pueblo County will have access to comprehensive, quality, and affordable health care. We accomplish this through helping people get the care they need by enrolling children and eligible adults into Medicaid, CHP+, and long-term care. We ensure that members of our community understand their health insurance benefits and connect them with the preventive and routine health care they need.

We are in need of an administrative volunteer to assist us with the day-to-day tasks that are vital for us to achieve our goals. These tasks may include:

• Greeting and signing in customers
• Quick Screen Customers to route accordingly
• Maintain Daily Traffic Log
• Screen customers using intake sheet and route client to appropriate worker
• Review Medicaid application for completeness
• Make copies of documents and forms
• Date stamp application and documents
• Obtain and certify copies of all documents provided
• Answer phones when not assisting a customer
• Check voicemail on both lines and transcribe messages and give to appropriate person (see flow chart)
• Date stamp all mail and documents that come in to the office
• Distribute mail to appropriate worker’s mail baskets
• Keep front reception area clean and waiting areas picked up. (wipe counter and chairs daily)
• Make folders, filing, and other duties assigned
• Data entry
• Outgoing phone contacts as needed
• Inventory of supplies
