The position of Media & Design Intern supports ECAC by developing its online presence. The intern oversees and assists in all ECAC’s multimedia communication efforts including website and social media management. The intern will also oversee various graphic design projects.
The Media and Design Intern:
(1) Assists IT Specialist with website management & development;
(2) Manages ECAC’s Facebook page & social media presence;
(3) Assists in the creation of advertisements, flyers, brochures, etc.;
(4) Assists with other multimedia communication efforts;
(5) Completes other related duties as needed.

Mission Statement
The Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago (ECAC) is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to serving the cultural, psychological and socio-economic needs of refugees and immigrants in and around metropolitan Chicago. In addition to assisting native Ethiopians, the ECAC supports all African, Asian, Middle Eastern and Eastern European refugee populations who seek its services. Established in 1984, ECAC assists in the promotion of personal growth, financial stability, positive family and community relations, and community empowerment. The adjustment and development of all of ECAC’s constituents is facilitated with programs in the areas of advocacy, education, employment, healthcare and community outreach.
Description
ECAC activities include: Refugee Reception & Placement; Employment Services; Match Grant (MG) program; Child and Youth Development; English as a Second Language (ESL); and Preferred Communities (PC) program; Citizenship and Immigration Services.
