Volunteers who enjoy interacting with or being around young children are invited to join Cleveland Botanical Garden's Hershey Children's Garden program and horticulture volunteer crew!
Program volunteers engage children and families in drop-in programs and activities set in this whimsical and interactive garden. Shifts are typically two hours and available weekday and weekends, morning and afternoons.
Volunteers who prefer to dig in the dirt are also needed to help with garden maintenance. Gardening tasks may include deadheading, watering, planting, sweeping, raking and other tasks as necessary. Shifts are three hours, 9:30am-12:30pm, Tuesday-Saturday.
For both opportunities, weekly volunteering is preferred, but you may come less frequently if needed. The season goes from mid-April through the end of October.
New volunteers to Holden Forests & Gardens can complete our online orientation to learn about being a volunteer with our organization. This takes about 30 minutes to complete, and it begins with a video, then our online mini-orientation, and our online volunteer application. Volunteers will also be interviewed by the Manager of Volunteer Resources and need to be background checked because of working with children.
All Holden Forests & Gardens volunteers must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
