Lexington Hospice is creating a program for musicians (or music students) to offer their gifts to hospice patients and families. We're looking for compassionate folks who understand the power of music for comfort and peace with patients nearing the end of their life. One day they need calm; one day they may need great memories of earlier times. All styles of music welcome. Instruments must be portable and adaptable in a small space. Please call to discuss sharing your passion.

You bring your music skills and experience; we provide substantive training in hospice, and the unique dynamics of families and patients experiencing both the joy of celebrating the life of a loved one, and the grief of that life coming to a close.

Look forward to talking to you soon.

Lexington Hospice focuses on enhancing quality of life while preserving dignity for end of life needs. We provide care, compassion and support for patients and their loved ones.

Description

Hospice is a special way of caring for patients and families when illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatment. Hospice is a special way of caring for patients experiencing a life-limiting illness and is a way of living as well as a plan of care. The Lexington hospice team of physicians, nurses, volunteers, chaplains, bereavement counselors, and social workers partner with the patient and the patient's family to develop a plan of care that is right for the patient. Lexington respects the patient's individuality. We support the patient's freedom of choice plus the need to preserve dignity and to retain control of life.
