Since 1988, We have provided 1000s of at risk youth, ages 8 thru High School, leadership development training using equine science (horses) as our motivational tool of choice. We are helping our 3rd generation of youth go to college & business ownership.
We have many volunteer opportunities availiable, including the following services:
Program Support, working with horses & kids Saturday mornings at the ranch
Equestrians interested in schooling horses, riding support, show support and riding mentorships
LCSW or MFT for work with empowerment and confidence for kids
Contractor or handyman to help with maintenance and improvements at the ranch
IT support person to help troubleshoot occasional computer problems
Grant writer
Veterinarian
Clerical Support, (Data entry, spreadsheets, power point decks)
Outreach Coordinator, (networking with schools, community youth organizations, community fairs, etc.)
Help to trailer horses to shows, (preferably with own truck and trailer).

Mission Statement
Since 1988, Compton Jr Posse (CJP) has used equine science and horse related activities as a leadership development program, providing a year round after school program that teaches youth the value of hard work and education, so they can give back to their families, communities and to society in general.
Description
The CJP provides a safe haven for youth. Youth improve social, emotional & communication skills and receive academic support and develop leadership skills through an award winning horse riding program. CJP was awarded the Silver Medal from the Governor’s Council on physical fitness, based on how riding horses improves physical, emotional and psychological health.
