The Loma Prieta Chapter is a leader in responding to climate change and brings the slogan "think global, act local" to life.

We are seeking diligent, motivated, and creative people with strong knowledge and understanding in graphic design, including various software programs including Microsoft Word, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Our chapter supports several conservation teams in need of creating effective outreach materials for our members, decision makers, and the general public. Conservation Teams recommend conservation policy for the Chapter, identify conservation priorities, and direct grassroots activities. Our 9 most active Conservation Teams include: Coastal Issues, Forest Protection, Fracking (new!), Global Warming and Energy, Sustainable Land Use, Transportation, Water, Wildlife, and Zero Waste/Recycling. Graphic Design Interns will work closely with staff and volunteers to support conservation teams in creating outreach materials for their campaigns.

An ideal candidate...

• Education: Has interest, has or is pursuing a degree in Graphic Design.
  • Proficient skill set in using graphic design software. i.e. Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Available to come to the office for 4-6 months at least 8-12 hours a week, during business hours (though some work can be done out of the office)
  • Passion for designing eye-capturing images for our flyers and banners that are used for Chapter events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create images and logos
• Images can be created and used for banners, flyers, and posters that are given out to the public
• Create info graphics to help our different teams advocate their issues through flyers and postcards
• Retrofit our old images on postcards and outreach material
• Other tasks as assigned (i.e. producing tabling materials, buttons, calendars)
