What a WIC volunteer may do:
- Welcome customers and be a friendly face.
- Prescreen customers for information needed for their WIC appointment.
- Help customers fill out forms (health history) etc.
- Be a language interpreter - Spanish etc.
- Lead the children's fun room.
- Read stories to the children.
- Keep an eye out for the safety of the children.
- Assist with traffic flow - show customers where the rest room is or where to exit.
- Keep track of the number system.
- Operate the TV/DVD player.
- Help keep the clinic tidy.
- Help with our customer ex: needing pens, tissue, changing a diaper etc.
A simple helping hand can make a huge impact! It can turn a difficult day into a great day that's remembered!

Description
WIC is a supplemental food and nutritional program for women, infants and children up to age five. The process for the WIC appointment could take as long as two hours. A clerk, a lab technician and a dietician see our client's. Customers receive information about nutrition, referrals to community services and learn all about how to access their WIC foods.
