Volunteer Wish Granters

Make-A-Wish of Central New York is currently recruiting imaginative, self-motivated and detail-oriented volunteers to serve as Wish Granters for our chapter. Wish Granters work directly with children living with life-threatening illnesses to discover and grant the child’s one true wish. These wishes can be anything from meeting a favorite celebrity to becoming a superhero to traveling abroad. As a Wish Granter, you will be specifically trained to play an instrumental role in helping to plan, create and fulfill the child’s wish.

Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Wishes really came true??

Here at Make-A-Wish Central New York, we have granted over 1,500 wishes to children in our local community with life-threatening medical conditions.

We invite you to share the power of a wish

As a non-profit organization, we heavily rely on volunteers to help make each child's wish come true! Make-A-Wish CNY volunteers are needed in the following departments:

  • Wish Granting
  • Fundraising
  • Event Planning and Execution
  • Recruiting, training and mentoring volunteers
  • Public Speaking
  • Administrative Support
