The Aurora Foundation ("Aurora") is a non-profit organization focused on developing programs that offer our community a better place to live and enjoy while educating people on matters that touch us all in one way or another. We value diversity and promote cultural competency in all aspects of our work.

Specifically, Aurora is dedicated to offering opportunities for at risk youth, safe housing for Our Loving Pets of individuals seeking to leave an abusive same sex relationships, and city-wide recyclinginitiatives and efforts to develop alternative fuel sources.

Team Green
The Center for Community Environmental Wellness

Restoring, preserving and protecting our sunny skies, green grassy spaces, water sources, clean airways and caring for various other limited natural resources that we all need and share in order to enjoy each day and the next.

The Team Green team collaborates with local and national environmental experts, regulatory agencies, enthusiasts, students, volunteers and seniors to identify the actions, practices and sources which are actively harmful to the health of our local environment. We offer our community solutions such as alternative methods and innovative programs that will reduce and hopefully eliminate further damage to our community's environment. Our goal is to restore, preserve and protect our sunny skies, green grassy spaces, water sources, clean airways and caring for various other limited natural resources that we all need and share in order to enjoy each day and the next.

Arts Media & Entertainment (AME) Our team works closely with local organizations, schools, agencies, students, families, and community leaders to develop, test pilot, implement and enhance programs which are vital to the social and creative development of our youth. We firmly believe that some of our youth, left to their own devices, may lose focus of their greater role in society. Therefore our goal is to capture the attention, earn the trust, and empower the minds of our at-risk youth offering experiential, progressive, thought-provoking and life-engaging opportunities where we will all be encouraged to: respect, inspire, think, debate, act, challenge, protect, learn, direct, participate, create, understand, choose, produce, recycle, publish, edit, solve, practice, rebuild, volunteer, present, provide, care, grow, believe, and become.

SafeHome. Aurora’s SafeHome program is filling the void of urgently needed support for you and your pet(s) in the New York Capital Region which offer assistance to any member of the LGBT community who is voluntarily seeking help to get out of a physically, mentally and/or emotionally abusive, same-sex domestic partnership We work with you by offering foster care for your pet(s) while you are housed in one of the Safe Shelters or other Facilities which can afford you a safe secure place to get the services you need to for your present situation.
