Colorado is home to many foreign trained refugee and immigrant healthcare professionals eager to contribute to Colorado's healthcare workforce. But before becoming US healthcare providers, they often face challenging obstacles. Familiarity with the US healthcare system, the development of professional networks and the acquisition of domestic credentials are just a few. Spring Institute’s Colorado Welcome Back program is seeking experienced healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, dentists, vets, lab technicians, social workers, etc.) who are eager to mentor foreign trained colleagues. Your professional knowledge and experience will help CWB participants bring their dreams to fruition. DUTIES: Mentors engage 1-1 with a matched participant and provide insight about the US healthcare system, professional expectations, career options and networking protocol & activities. COMMITMENT: Hours are on an as needed basis and are flexible according to your availability. A minimum time commitment of 3 months is preferred. LOCATION: Spring Institute - 1373 Grant Street, Denver CO 80203 or any mutually agreed upon location within the Denver metro area. SIGN ME UP: If you are interested in becoming a volunteer mentor, please send your resume and cover letter to cmiller@springinstitute.org. We look forward to hearing from you! COLORADO WELCOME BACK (CWB), a non-profit program of the Spring Institute, seeks to bridge the gap between internationally trained healthcare professionals in pursuit of domestic healthcare careers and our state’s need for linguistically and culturally competent healthcare providers. Through academic advising, career counseling, professional development workshops and critical mentorship opportunities, CWB helps its participants achieve their professional dreams and while meeting Colorado’s healthcare needs.
