Volunteering at Christian Children's Home of Ohio If you have a heart for children and families in need, there's a place for you at Christian Children's Home of Ohio. Giving of your time and talents gives you an opportunity to change lives, including your own, and to respond to Jesus' call to serve "the least of these." Training is available to make your volunteering the best experience possible for you and your group. Here are some of the opportunities available at CCHO:

1. Maintenance and upkeep of our main Wooster campus: Work groups can help to maintain and improve the quality of the cottages in our Children's Residential Center, the grounds and our office buildings located at our main campus in Wooster, OH. We welcome skilled and general labor groups for special projects, including landscaping, painting, lawn mowing, roofing, repairs, construction and general maintenance. Select groups engaged in multi-day projects can stay overnight in our Retreat Center. 2. Campus Volunteers: Volunteers provide indirect assistance to the cottages and treatment specialists, as well as support to administrative staff. Individuals or groups can make an impact by assisting with mailings and other helpful tasks.
3. Campus Events: Bring your group or come on your own to help at our internal events, including our Great Grill off in June, Champions for Children 5K in October, Christmas time and other fun occasions. Volunteers will assist with food preparation, serving, cleaning up, and with games and other activities. 4. Community Board: Marketing savvy adults are invited to serve a year on this committee that plans and produces special events such as our Hope Gala and Great Grill Off, activities and materials to promote our mission and give people the opportunity to support our efforts. 5. Campus Ministry / Recreational: Our residential kids attend church at our retreat center on our Wooster campus. We welcome groups high school age or older to come particiatepate with us. Your group can help by leading worship, preaching the sermon or helping with the snack afterwards or a combonination of all three. We do request that the groups commit to helping with church a minimum of 4 times per year. If you would like to do more than that we will work to make that happen.
6. Cottage Life Mentor: We match the right adults with the right youths in our Children's Residential Center for mentoring on a consistent basis. Mentors will assist kids with their homework, engage in Bible study, and provide a good listening ear at our Wooster campus.
7. Poplar Ridge Stables: If you have a love for horses and kids, there's a place for you here. Provide care for the horses by maintaining their stables, assist staff with therapy lessons, and handle general tasks associated with this stellar program.
