As a Home Ownership Education Coordinator you will serve as the focal point of our monthly home ownership classes. You will work with our service partners to educate participants on the mechanics of purchasing a home.
Your duties and responsibilities include:
- Confirm participant attendance prior to workshop date(s);
- Lead a home ownership workshop at various venues in Hampton Roads (Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Yorktown) designed to educate participants on the mechanics of purchasing a home;
- Disseminate program literature and surveys and ensure collection of completed surveys;
- Setup refreshments for participants;
- Follow-up with participants to connect them to resources/service partners;
- Coordinate sponsor services, such as credit counselors, mortgage lender, real estate (buyer's agent), and closing services.
The successful Home Ownership Education Coordinator will:
- have excellent communication skills;
- have strong customer service experience;
- be proficient in using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word;
- be a current or prior homeowner; and,
- have some education/training experience.
VHCDC conduct a Home Ownership Class each month at one of several public venues throughout Hampton Roads, including Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Yorktown.
